Photos from Bangalore

Though it’s been about a month since I left Bangalore, I have some photos from there that I never shared. I want to do that before I leave India entirely, so here you go!

One of the many stalls on the ground floor of an indoor marketplace.

This is the same market viewed from above, with tarp covering the tops of the stalls.

Continuing with the market theme, this farmers’ market starts at a Hindu temple (entrance at the left).

I couldn’t resist taking photos of everything I saw that was offering a medical service. This is a small Ayurveda shop offering a free health camp.

A typical streetside medical shop.

Another Ayurveda drugstore – they had something for everything!

Layers and layers of shops, along with some beautiful flowers.
IMG_2866.jpg
The streets are packed with small storefronts. MumbaiĀ also has many shops like this, but the streets are busier and less green.

More beautiful flowers for sale. In the back you can see Himalaya, a fancy herbal healthcare shop.

A dental clinic, pharmacy, and general practitioner clinic, all in one building!

Bangalore is known for having India’s worst traffic, so most residents have a motorcycle.

A small temple with typically intricate carvings.

The artwork outside the temple was much newer than the temple itself; the artist painted his name and phone number in the bottom left hand corner to advertise his services!

This pink elephant lives in the topiary section of Bangalore’s Lalbagh Botanical Gardens.

A sign in Lalbagh points to the “Japanees Garden.”

Some shops from an outdoor street fair I went to.

The colorful street fair was a weekend event with lots of vendors selling crafts, clothing, and specialty foods.
